Over 170,000 visitors flocked to The Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston (20th – 23rd June ) to visit The 2013 Royal Highland Show – an increase of almost 9,500 on the 2012 attendance figure. The event is Scotland’s largest outdoor event and an important showcase for food, farming and countryside. With a focus on Highlands and Islands, new attractions in 2013 included a giant 10-meter ‘mountain’ to climb and abseil, outdoor street food from award-winning chefs, Set4Sport with Judy Murray supported by RBS and almost 5,000 animals including sheep, cattle, poultry and horses. Commenting on the final figure – 170,556 over the four days – new show manager, Becky Elvin commented: “As my first show in charge, I am thrilled that we have again demonstrated the show’s enduring appeal. From tasting Scotland’s finest foods, to cycling around the new mountain bike track, to seeing the finest animals on parade – the Show is a once-a-year event that is for many, an attraction not to be missed”. Final figures 2012 in brackets:- Thursday 38,315 (38,342); Friday 45,334 (40,616); Saturday 49,705 (45,401) and Sunday 37,202 (36,883). Total 170,556 (161,242). The next edition of The Royal Highland Show will be taken from 26th to 29th June 2014....

This is the UK’s biggest show in Scotland’s National Showground for Agricultural Machinery, covering 40 hectares with over 155.000 visitors. You can find specific areas covering Countryside, Forestry, Crafts and Shopping and also 10.000 square metres of Scotish Food and Drink, 1000 cattle, 1500 sheep and a huge selection of horses. Held adjacent to Edinburgh Airport and only 10 km from the City,the event parking can serve 20.000 cars and 400 buses a day. See Scotland at it’s best in this trade and public/entertainment Show!...
