Elmia Agriculture, Machinery & Cultivation is a trade fair aimed at professional farmers. The fair was first held in 1961, and the 2013 event is the 38th fair, held at Elmia in Jönköping, Sweden. Elmia Agriculture, Machinery & Cultivation is Sweden’s biggest indoor agricultural fair, a comprehensive meeting-place for exhibitors and visitors who work with, or are interested in, products related to plant growing in the field. The fair is a showcase for the newest machinery and latest developments in plant growing, grain storage and renewable energy. The event has approximately 250 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors. Elmia Agriculture, Machinery & Cultivation is held every three years. Elmia Agriculture, Livestock & Technology and Elmia Grow are held in the years in between. Elmia Agriculture, Livestock & Technology is an important meeting-place for anyone working with livestock. The focus is on the animals, and there is an exhibition of products for livestock management and farm equipment. Elmia Grow is a Nordic trade fair for growers of potatoes, vegetables, fruit and berries. It exhibits the latest technology for special cultivation both outdoors and in glasshouses.
