The SOMMET DE L’ELEVAGE, one of the largest international trade shows specialized in livestock production, will be held from 5-7 October 2011 in Clermont-Ferrand (Central France) and will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Fully dedicated to the professional sector, the show, which covers 150,000 m² exhibition space, is hosting 1,250 exhibitors (including 380 international exhibitors) and 75,000 trade visitors, including 2,500 from 60 countries. Located in the heart of the Massif Central region, the European cradle of the beef breeding industry, the SOMMET DE L’ELEVAGE provides an exceptional showcase for the French livestock industry, exhibiting some 2,000 livestock specimens of high genetic value (1,300 cattle – 400 sheep – 300 horses). In 2011, the SOMMET will host the national Limousin competition, with 500 of the breed’s best animals on show. The three days will be packed with livestock showings, business meetings, technological innovation competitions (“Les Sommets d’Or”), VIP visits and top-level conferences and seminars, all held in the fun-filled, convivial atmosphere that is a trademark feature of the show. A special program is organized for international visitors (free entrance to the show, International VIP Club, organization of farm tours…). More information on www.sommet-elevage.fr
